Privacy Policy – Claude Prompt Generator

This privacy policy describes how the Claude Prompt Generator Chrome extension (“the Extension”) handles information. The Extension is designed to respect your privacy: it does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to any external servers.

1. Data we do not collect

• The Extension does not collect, transmit, or store your prompts, scraped page content, or any other personal or usage data on our servers or any third-party servers.
• We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising.
• We do not sell or share your data with anyone.

2. Where your data stays

All data you enter or generate stays on your device:

• Prompts that you type in the side panel are used only to paste and send into the chat page you have open (e.g. Claude.ai). They are not sent to us or stored by the Extension beyond the current session in the browser.
• Page scraper text (content extracted from the current tab via CSS selectors) is used only when you click “Copy Prompt” or “Download.” The copied or downloaded content stays on your device; we do not receive or store it.
• Logs shown in the side panel are kept only in memory for your convenience and are not sent or stored by us.

3. Chrome permissions and why we use them

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions. Each is used only for the features described:

• activeTab – To access the tab you are using so we can paste prompts into the reply box and run the page scraper on the current page.
• clipboardWrite – To paste your prompt text into the chat input (e.g. Claude’s reply box). We do not read your clipboard.
• scripting – To run the Extension’s own script in your active tab so it can find the reply input, paste text, and send messages when you click “Start Generation,” and to run the scraper when you use Copy/Download or Update stats.
• sidePanel – To show the Extension’s interface (prompt list, settings, scraper, logs) in Chrome’s side panel.
• tabs – To find the tab where you want to send prompts (e.g. Claude.ai) and to activate that tab. We do not collect or send tab data elsewhere.
• Host access (e.g. all_urls) – So the content script can run on the page you choose (e.g. claude.ai) to paste and send prompts and to scrape the current page. No page data is sent to our servers.

4. Third-party services

When you use the Extension to send prompts to a website such as Claude.ai, your interaction is directly between your browser and that website. We do not receive your prompts or any content you send. Any data you submit to those sites is governed by their own privacy policies (e.g. Anthropic’s policy for Claude).

5. Updates to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top will be revised when we do. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
